Video: Kendra Scott Temporarily Closes Jewelry Stores Due to COVID-19

Kendra Scott is among retailers nationwide closing stores due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The company announced that all of its locations will be shuttered March 16-29. Kendra Scott’s website lists 100 U.S. stores in 35 states and the District of Columbia.

In a video posted to YouTube, Scott, CEO of the eponymous company, said the company was built “with family as our first pillar.” She noted that she is taking care of her own elderly father following recent medical treatment and that the crisis “hits home in a very real way.”

“This was not an easy decision and is one made with the best interest of not just our employees, but our communities and country in mind,⁣⁣” she said.

The company is “working with all of our retail employees as we extend our paid time off policies,” Scott said. The business will seek ways to help communities through philanthropy.

Kendra Scott will continue selling online.

Business Insider reports that major retailers including Nike, Abercrombie & Fitch and Urban Outfitters have closed physical stores for at least the next two weeks.
