Which Family Members Are Hardest To Work With?

You love your family – but that doesn’t mean you always love working with them.

 

The ties of blood and marriage can provide a strong foundation for a business, but they can also bring their own stresses. Among the potential problems are power struggles, financial disagreements, boundary issues and plain old getting on each other’s nerves.

For Big Survey 2016, we asked jewelers which family members are hardest to work with.

“Spouse” was the clear winner (or loser, depending on how you look at it) with 31 percent of the vote.

And although in-law relationships have a reputation for being rocky, that answer wasn’t particularly high on the list, garnering only 7 percent of the votes. In fact, based on our survey results, it would appear that the closer the relationship, the higher the likelihood of strife when you try to work together.
