1 Dead in Jewelry-Store Robbery

The robbery suspect remains at large.

A jewelry-store worker in Nevada has died after being shot in a robbery.

The crime took place Saturday evening at Jared The Galleria of Jewelry in Henderson, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

The female employee was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she passed away, according to the newspaper.

The robbery suspect left on foot and remains at large.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that he’s described as “a black man who wore a red or maroon hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored beanie or hat and a mask” and he had “a dark bag or backpack.”

Authorities said it’s not clear whether the robbery suspect took anything.

According to the Sun, it’s also unknown what happened before the shooting or how many people may have been in the store.
