In 2014 the global jewelry market was estimated to be valued at US $157 billion. By 2022, the size of the jewelry market had doubled to $269 billion. That phenomenal growth has made it one of the fastest-growing segments in fashion during the past five years.

However, signals are mixed in the current year and for the future. After an outstanding year in 2021:

Bridal sale values fell 16 percent
Unit sales dropped 14 percent
Specialty jewelers’ sale values rose 9 percent
Unit sales are down 4 percent
