$500,000 Jewelry Theft from Macy’s: Second Suspect Arrested

Memphis police have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of nearly $500,000 in jewelry from a Macy’s store.

Rashad Bonds, 30, is accused of theft of property worth $60,000 to $250,000, WREG-TV reports.

Police say Bonds was one of five men who ran into the store and stole merchandise in a June incident. He was allegedly captured on security video later pawning some of the jewelry at a local shop.

Another suspect was previously charged in connection with the same incident. The store is located in Oak Court Mall.

Police say Bonds was also part of another theft at the same store — one that involved as much as $2 million in jewelry. He allegedly made 10 pawn transactions over a two-and-a-half week period starting May 27.
