$70,000 in Jewelry Stolen After Truck Slams Into Jewelry Store

A truck backed through the front of a jewelry store in Memphis, TN, and $70,000 in merchandise was stolen.

The crime at Cunningham’s Watch and Jewelry Repair took place at about 3 a.m. Friday, WREG-TV reports.

Security footage showed that the truck was a white Ford F-150, WMC reports. The news outlet noted that three men appeared to enter the business on foot. (Scroll down to see the video.)

Among the items taken were four custom chains worth $6,000 each, along with $10,000 in costume jewelry, according to WMC.

Just a few hours after the burglary, community members helped owner Craig Cunningham to clean up. He hoped to reopen within two days. The business has been operating since 1986.

“There’s really nothing I can do other than put some barricades across the front of the building but I doubt I will do that,”  Cunningham told WREG.
