Etsy Jeweler Finds Brick-and-Mortar Success With 100% Handmade Designs

Each piece takes two days to create, owner says.

After Cassie Uhl launched Zenned Out on e-commerce website Etsy, she opened a physical store in Tempe, AZ to sell her handcrafted jewelry and has since become known for her sustainable business practices, the East Valley Tribune writes. “We live in such a throw-away society,” she told the news outlet. “Whenever I go into jewelry stores like Charming Charlie or Claire’s, I physically tense up a bit.” As such, Uhl uses recycled metals to craft her designs and recycled materials for packaging, the article says, noting that each piece is “completely handmade” and takes about two days to create.
