Giant Rabbit Sculpture That Graced Texas Jewelry Store for 20 Years Has Been Stolen

It’s 8 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds.

For 20 years, an 8-foot bunny sculpture stood over the Fly High Little Bunny jewelry store in Houston — and now it’s gone, KTRK-TV reports. The eclectic store moved to a new location in the Heights area of the city from its old home on South Shepherd Drive, where the rabbit was an iconic presence. The bunny was temporarily parked behind the new store, with artist Spencer Elliot planning to refurbish it before putting it up, according to KTRK. But one night last week, the 500-pound piece vanished. Cody Reaves, the owner of Fly High Little Bunny, notified police of the theft and is hoping the sculpture turns up intact, perhaps at a scrapyard.
