(Press Release)
Gigi Ferranti Jewelry, winner of a recent MJSA Vision Award for Professional Design Excellence, will be among the newest designers appearing for the first time at JA New York’s Design District.

The collection will debut at the show from July 24-26 in booth #2971. As a new design exhibitor, the brand’s booth will feature a blue “N” in front of it. The JA New York Show Design District features an array of designers complemented by additional curated collections from the American Craft Council and the Accessories Council. The district is also home to the New Designer Gallery, a feature at JA New York since 1978.

“As a Brooklyn-based jewelry business, I’m thrilled to show my collection for the first time at the JA New York Show. It’s the centerpiece of New York Jewelry Week,” says Gina Ferranti, owner of Gigi Ferranti Jewelry. “The Design District allows me to debut my jewelry in a setting that has launched the careers of so many designers. I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Ferranti is a Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) of the Gemological Institute of America and also holds a jewelry design degree. She spent the early years of her career as a fashion stylist and has two decades of experience dressing women of all ages. The designer is also influenced by the architectural history of her Italian forbears.

Her newest collection, Hexagon, features diamond-intensive jewels which celebrate the shape that also inspired her Bianca colored gemstone collection. “The close bonding of hexagons strengthens many natural structures, such as bees’ honeycombs, gem crystals, and giant rock formations. I’m fascinated by their universality,” says Ferranti.

Ferranti will also be showing her Gianna collection, a more architecturally inspired look, and the Sophia collection, derived from the delicate curves of a flower and combined with the knowledge of its underlying geometry.

Among Gigi Ferranti Jewelry’s newest designs is a two-in-one earring in the Hexagon collection. “It can be worn as a stud by day and a dangle by night,” says the designer. “When I dressed clients, that was a continual need many had. Plus, adaptability offers great value for female jewelry purchasers.”

Also on display will be Ferranti’s “Shangri-La” ring, the recipient of a 2016 Professional Design Excellence prize from the MJSA Vision Awards. The 18k rose gold jewel has a 15.38 ct., asymmetrical, peachy-pink morganite center stone with a spiraling bezel. It’s accented with bead-set white and fancy pink diamonds, and three pear-shaped, prong-set blue-green aquamarines. “I was inspired by Pantone’s softer fashion tones in peaches and aqua, which are also echoed in the rose gold,” says Ferranti. “Since I usually celebrate symmetry, the unusual shape of the morganite inspired me to a new challenge in finding balance for the design.”
