Donald Trump’s election represents a major promotional opportunity for Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry and other Trump brands, the Washington Post reports.
And the Trump companies appear ready to jump at the chance.
Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump recently appeared on “60 Minutes” to talk about her father’s election.
Soon afterward, the jewelry brand sent a “style alert” to the media. It noted that a piece of jewelry that Ivanka Trump wore on the show, the 18-karat Metropolis diamond bangle, was available for $10,800.
The alert represented “one of the first moments since the election during which the Trump companies have sought to use Trump’s presidential prominence to boost their private fortunes,” according to the Post.
Ethics experts say conflicts of interest could arise during Trump’s presidency because of his many business holdings.
Abigail Klem, president of the Ivanka Trump brand, told the Post that many in the company are “still making adjustments post-election.”
He said the brand is “proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going forward.”
Interest in Ivanka Trump’s brands increased as a result of the Trump campaign, according to the Post.
