Jewelry Store to Become ‘Like a Landmark’ with Major Expansion

It’s building a 15,000-square-foot structure.

Dimo Fine Jewelry in Gainesville, GA, is expanding to 15,000 square feet from its current 3,000 in a change that Robert Dimo hopes will make the store “something like a landmark.”

It’s constructing a two-story building that will have 30-foot columns along with flourishes such as limestone siding and hand-carved stones, the Gainesville Times reports.

The owners hope to be operating in the the building by mid-May, according to the Times. The old structure will be demolished, and as many as 30 parking spots will be added.

The owners wanted to grow but didn’t want to leave the site where they’ve been since the mid-1990s.

The family-owned business started 58 years ago in Turkey, the Dimos’ homeland.
