Jewelry Thieves Arrested After Bragging to Co-Workers

After two robbers used an ax to hack through a Macy’s jewelry showcase and make off with $150,000 in merchandise, the pair was arrested thanks to anonymous tips informing police that one thief was bragging about his exploits to co-workers, the Indy Star reports.

The article explains that one tip came from a witness who said that the thief “had been going around work saying ‘I’m the man,’ court documents said. The witness went on to say that [the thief] would show people the security footage released to the media, and when asked if he was involved, he would never deny it.”

This seems like an apt time to recall the sage wisdom of William Shakespeare, who once warned: “Who knows himself a braggart, let him fear this, for it will come to pass that every braggart shall be found an ass.” Indeed.
