Alvin Goldfarb was 84.
The Seattle Times reports that Alvin Goldfarb, who founded a boutique jewelry store in Bellevue, WA, has died at age 84. Goldfarb started Alvin Goldfarb Jeweler in Bellevue’s downtown area in 1980 and grew it into a thriving operation. He retired about 10 years ago, and his son, Steven Goldfarb, now runs the business. (Steven Goldfarb has often been quoted in the pages of INSTORE on topics ranging from hot-selling items to customer service, and the business was honored as one of our “Cool Stores” in 2009.) The elder Goldfarb passed away Sept. 4 in Seattle, according to the Times. Among his community service activities, Goldfarb had been president of the Pacific Northwest Jewelers Association.
