PAGE SARGISSON OF PAGE SARGISSON ON MEN’S JEWELRY

When did you add men’s jewelry to your collection?
“In 2003, I started designing cufflinks since I needed presents for the men in my life! I felt that guys would love the idea of a 1920s
casino chip from Monte Carlo — they feel very James Bond-ish.”

What is your approach to designing for men?
“It’s more feminine — I sell to women buying gifts for guys. I always design my collections keeping in mind pieces that I would want to wear; so for men, I just designed pieces that I’d want my husband to wear!”

LOREN RIDINGER OF LOREN JEWELS ON MEN’S JEWELRY

When and why did you start designing men’s jewelry?
“Men have a hard time deciding what they feel comfortable wearing when it comes to jewelry. I polled my male friends, and cufflinks kept coming up as the jewelry they would wear most. They are sexy and understated, and I took that inspiration to develop the rest of the collection.”

What’s the difference in your approach between the women’s and men’s collections?
“I continue to ask my guy friends what they want to see in materials and stones and textures. Because I am a woman, I inherently can relate and understand to what we want to wear.”
