(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — After a 2 year hiatus while the Miami Beach Convention Center underwent a $615 Million renovation, the Original Miami Beach Antique Show is returning to its original home for its 2019 event, January 27-30. While the 2017 and 2018 Original Miami Beach Antique Show (OMBAS) maintained its stronghold on this important sector of the antiques market with a presence at the Miami Fairgrounds, the entire OMBAS community is thrilled to return to the revamped, state-of-the-art facility and exhibit their spectacular products in their original home.
“During the convention center renovation, we had two great events at the Fairgrounds, but we are very excited to return to the venue that has faithfully served us for 55 years,” enthused Katrina Canady, Show Manager for U.S. Antique Shows. “The Original Miami Beach Antique Show is the pinnacle event for the antiques market globally, so it is fitting that we host our event in a facility of the caliber of the Miami Beach Convention Center.”
Since the mid-1950’s, the Miami Beach Convention Center has served as the commercial center for the city of Miami Beach. The newly re-imagined center maintains historically significant architectural details, while also incorporating site-specific contemporary art from a number of globally recognized artists. New pedestrian friendly green spaces along the Collins Canal will seamlessly connect the center with adjacent historic and cultural districts, as well as hotels and resorts, creating an enhanced destination venue for the Original Miami Beach Antique Show’s attendees and exhibitors.
The Original Miami Beach Antique Show will take place January 27-30th, 2019. America’s largest indoor antique show, OMBAS hosts more than 600 of the most well-respected antiques’ purveyors in the world. Each year, the event showcases fine art, American and European silver, antique and estate jewelry, furniture, collectables and more from Renaissance to Art Deco eras. More information about celebratory events to commemorate the show’s return to the convention center will be released at a later date.
