We have an initiation rite for new employees. We pretend to have dropped a diamond and in a panicked voice tell them to rush down to the bench and get the “diamond magnet” before any customers come in. They return when they realize they don’t really know where it is (or what it is). The laughter is usually uncontrollable, and they have become one of the gang. — Dennis P., Johnstown, PA
