True Tales: Moose, Uh, By-Product Jewelry

The oddest material I have seen used for jewelry is in Alaska, where some jewelers would sell (and I am not making this up, just reporting an observation) gold-painted moose droppings. They are small so they are strung as a necklace. Tourists loved them and most were appalled or couldn’t stop laughing as they bought several for gifts, Hey, its Alaska! (Frankly, I am jealous … just think of the mark-up!)?
