True Tales: The Sinking of the Cleavage

One of our salespeople came to my wife Linda saying she needed help with a client. She simply could not convince the client that her pearl necklace, which we had just restrung, was the same length it used to be. She was a nicely dressed, attractive, middle-aged woman. She was not being unpleasant, but she was absolutely sure something was wrong. My wife quickly learned that the client was sure her pearls were shorter because she remembered distinctly that when she first got the pearls, they came to the top of her cleavage. Linda thought for a moment and asked, “And how long ago was that?” The woman thought for a second, and then said “Oh, my God, you’re right!” And they both had a good laugh.
