Turkish jewelry designer Pinar Oner has died after what her family describes as a long battle with illness. Here is the full text of a statement from the family:
“The global jewelry world mourns the untimely loss of talented Turkish luxury jewelry designer Pinar Oner, who passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2016 after a long battle with illness. Pinar was born in Ankara, Turkey and always held a fascination for fine jewelry craftsmanship and design, even as a young girl. After studying graphic arts at university, she took a course at the Parsons New School for Design in New York, where her eyes were opened to the concept of incorporating the world around her into her designs. A member of the CSARITE Designer Collection launched in 2014, Pinar Oner was also a recipient of a coveted 2013 Couture Design Award for one of her striking bridal designs. Her fresh, yet iconic, handcrafted jewelry designs reflected the cultural influences of her beloved Turkey. The luxury jewelry world has lost a true gem indeed.”
