President of Shinola to Present Keynote at GlobalShop

(Press Release) GlobalShop, an annual gathering for the retail design and shopper marketing community, announced that Jacques Panis, president of Shinola, will keynote the 2017 GlobalShop Show and Conference.

The event will be held March 28-30 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The keynote session is being produced in partnership with Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).

Panis will kick off the 25th year of the GlobalShop event on March 28, with remarks on “The American Experience,” followed by a Q&A with WWD Editor Maghan McDowell. Attendees are invited to join Shinola and WWD to hear about the experiences built into the stores that make it easier for consumers to appreciate the brand and its core values.

Shinola has invested heavily in bricks-and-mortar since launching in 2011. Opening eight stores in the past year, Shinola now has a total of 20 across America plus one in Toronto and another in London.

“Look, we don’t want to be another store on another corner in another city,” Panis told WWD. “We want to give consumers a unique experience, whether they’re buying from Shinola or not. It’s important that people understand the mission of the brand.”

With more than 10 years of experience spanning marketing, branding and sales, Panis joined Shinola in 2010 to direct the company’s product development and strategic brand direction, and he became president in 2013. Prior to Shinola, Panis served as a founding member of Webosaurs, where he oversaw the interactive division for the Dallas-based animation studio, Reel FX.

GlobalShop is owned and operated by Emerald Expositions, which produces more than 80 trade shows and over 100 face-to-face events in total, including conferences, summits and other events.
