Police: Employee Stole Nearly $150,000 in Jewelry From Department Store

A man who worked for a store in Las Vegas is accused of stealing from the jewelry department of the business.

Carlos Flores-Ochoa allegedly disabled an alarm and put the jewelry in his pocket, KLAS-TV reports. In all, the jewelry consisted of 23 diamond pieces, including bracelets and rings, amounting to almost $150,000 in value, authorities said.

Flores-Ochoa has been charged with theft and burglary, as well as obtaining money, property, rent or labor by false pretenses.

Flores-Ochoa has been fired from the store.

The name of the store was not provided. KLAS described it as a big box store in Centennial Hills.
