Two-Stone Misstep
Didn’t we learn from three-stone rings that, should two-stone rings become popular and a way out for a fiancé looking to get off on the cheap, large diamond sales are likely to go into the toilet? Two-stone rings will be even less expensive than the three-stone rings that were trucked out years ago as “anniversary rings” but sold like hotcakes as engagement rings. People buy cheaper gifts year, after year after year. They only get engaged once, or twice, or maybe three times in a lifetime. What a great opportunity we are blowing (again)! Guns and Jewelers
Your October issue asked about open carry guns in Texas starting Jan. 1 (One Quick Question, page 18). We are a jewelry store in central Texas and we have been asking our clientele for months about this issue. So far, every client but one has told us they would not feel comfortable if someone walked in openly carrying a weapon. We have not decided the exact route, but may end up posting a sign in front of the store. We may well be protested, we surely will have some uncomfortable conversations, but nobody has told me how to tell if the gun-carrier is a good guy or a bad guy, and I’ve never heard of an incident ending well when someone carried a gun into a jewelry store.. — B.
