Missed the Las Vegas Shows? Here’s What Everyone Was Talking About

New designs and styles inspired by Gen Y.

With the Las Vegas jewelry shows in the books, writer Felicia Mello of the Las Vegas Review-Journal recapped the action and took note of a few trends. She touches on lab-grown diamonds and same-sex wedding bands, also highlighting a few emerging designers while noting how the younger generation is driving change with their own ideas about design and style. She writes: “Millennials are charging into the jewelry market and bringing their irreverent attitudes with them. The edgy look that started with ear crawlers and ear cuffs has evolved into pieces that are more difficult to classify — like a ring with a gold sheath that fits over the wearer’s fingernail, a la Lady Gaga.”
