Olivia Wilde Pairs White T-Shirt with Stack of Independent Designer Bracelets and Layered Necklaces on The Late Show

ONE OF THE STOPS on Olivia Wilde’s promotion tour for Don’t Worry Darling, which she directed and acted in, was The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. After wearing couture and high jewelry for the film festivals, Wilde dressed down for the taping of the show in a classic white t-shirt and wide-leg trousers, delicate necklace layers and a wrist full of bracelets and then headed off to Harry Styles’ concert in a white plunging neckline Stella McCartney dress.

Karla Welsh, Wilde’s stylist, created looks that ranged from bohemian chic to ’70s revival style to old Hollywood glamour for her whirlwind tour. But upon entering The Late Show, she looked right at home in New York City in her unstudied casual chic outfit and yellow gold choker with what seemed to be a diamond tennis necklace and long Y or lariat necklaces. We could identify two of her bracelets, which were created by independent designer Melissa Kaye. One was in 18K yellow gold with triple channel-set diamonds and the other was in 18K yellow gold; both featured a combination of sculptural and geometric influences for the elongated links. These were mixed with flexible yellow gold and diamond styles. She finished off the look with a Melissa Kaye 18K yellow gold and diamond Anya ring.

Although she looked elegant at the Venice Film Festival in her yellow Gucci dress and Gucci high jewelry and in other looks that included a sleek shimmering Valentino gown at the San Sebastián International Film Festival premiere, this was a look I could see myself wearing. In this case, reality trumps fantasy dress-up for the jewelry and the clothes.
