Pantone Reveals the Official Color of 2017

It “evokes the first days of spring.”

Pantone has unveiled its official color of 2017, a shade called Greenery.

The color institute calls the color “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s executive director. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

Pantone described Greenery as “nature’s neutral” and said it lends itself to a wide variety of color combinations.

The institute showed palettes with the color paired with neutrals, brights, deeper shades and metallics.

The palettes “easily cross over fashion, beauty, product and graphic design applications,” according to Pantone.
