September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair Set To Open

(Press Release)
The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair will be held Sept. 13-17 at AsiaWorld-Expo and Sept. 15-19 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Now in its 34th edition, the fair enjoys support from key industry players around the world. The fair is a trading platform for exhibitors and a global marketplace for buyers seeking jewelry, gemstones, designs and materials. Concurrent special events, workshops and receptions make the fair a good venue for networking and learning.

This year’s September Fair hosts over 3,550 exhibitors from 54 countries and regions in more than 135,000 square meters of exhibition space.

"We are excited to unveil numerous new events, launch value-added show features and introduce new exhibitors at this edition as part of our initiative to continually enhance buyers’ experiences," said Celine Lau, director of jewelry fairs, UBM Asia. "We work hard to develop the September Fair to ensure that it responds to the market’s ever-changing needs. Of course, we are also working hard to make sure that through our quality service, the September Fair maintains its reputation as the world’s leading jewelry event,"

Sunny Chan, deputy fair manager, jewelry fairs, UBM Asia, said the September Fair is expected to welcome around 58,000 local and overseas visitors over its seven-day run. "Participants can expect the same business-friendly environment and reliable and professional services that have become the hallmarks of UBM Asia’s fairs over the past several years," he said.

New attractions include exhibitors from Nigeria, Portugal, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Slovakia, Tahiti and Vanuatu. In addition, the September Fair welcomes new group pavilions from Myanmar and Portugal, which bring to 25 the number of group pavilions at this edition in the two venues. The rest are companies from Antwerp, Brazil, mainland China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United States, and the International Colored Gemstone Association.

The Fair Mobile App is now available for download at www.jewellerynetasia.com for information visitors can use to plan their buying trip. The app lets users receive show alerts and updates, browse the list of exhibitors, and create a personal daily planner and more, via a smartphone or a laptop.

The Alrosa Group, Russia’s leading diamond company and the world’s biggest diamond miner by volume, will again host its diamond auction at the September Fair at AsiaWorld-Expo. Also returning are the world’s largest Diamond Pavilion, Asia’s biggest gemstone marketplace, and the Hong Kong Pavilion and the Hong Kong Premier Pavilion, which house the biggest display of Hong Kong jewelry in the world.

AsiaWorld-Expo will display jewelry raw materials from over 1,600 local and overseas exhibitors, while the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre will showcase fine finished jewelry from around 2,000 international fine jewelry exhibitors.

The fair press conference will be held Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Meeting Rooms S226-227 of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Heads of invited jewelry associations will share their views on the developments in the jewelry trade, while the senior vice president of UBM Asia will announce the latest developments in UBM’s jewelry fairs business in global markets.
