Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair Postponed Until 2017

Dispute regarding venue proved unresolvable.

The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) announced that its inaugural Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair, scheduled for Sept. 7-11, 2016, has been postponed until 2017 due to a dispute that had arisen regarding the event’s venue. In a letter from Suttipong Damrongsakul, president of the TGJTA, he says the organization was “unable to secure the necessary space to organize the fair during the stated timeframe.”

He adds:

“Therefore, the TGJTA is now shifting our full focus to begin planning and secure another exhibition venue to prepare to organize the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair in 2017 instead. We are highly confident that this move will enable us to ensure greater benefits and a much better fair for our membership and the Thai gem and jewelry industry. We will provide update on this progress as soon as possible.

“Please know that the TGJTA is absolutely disappointed with this unexpected development and we offer our most heartfelt apologies to all exhibitors and visitors who have put faith in us in organizing the fair in September. We hope for your understanding in this unfortunate matter.

“We express our sincere thanks to all parties who have provided us with very generous support.”
