He spent nearly five years planning it and two and a half years building it.

When Daniel Evans, owner of Evans Jewelers in Smithfield, NC, decided to open a jewelry store, he did so with the ambition of making it a true destination, Southern Jewelry News writes. The feature profile describes how Evans spent nearly five years planning the store, searching for architecture and interior designs that appealed to him before beginning construction:

“Starting with a 150 year old building crafted with 7 types of brick and the best architecture a local surveyor had ever seen, Daniel insisted on maintaining as much of the original structure as possible. From the original wood ceilings, complete with ceiling beams from a local train trestle, to the copper awning in front, the store feels warm, friendly and comfortable, enticing both men and women to come in and visit.”

It took two and a half years to build the store, which also features a wine bar and offers cigars wrapped in a custom band with the Evans family crest, the article adds. “We took a risk and created a store where experience happens, and our customers feel the love we have for them, our family and our community,” Evans told SJN.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
