2 Jewelry Companies Reach ‘Genius’ Level in Digital Efforts

70 jewelry and watch brands were evaluated.

Tiffany & Co. and Cartier ranked at “genius” level for digital competence in a new analysis by research and business intelligence firm L2.

The two companies were the only brands to achieve the top ranking in L2’s Digital IQ Index: Watches & Jewelry.

Rounding out the top five, at “gifted” level, were Swarovski, Alex and Ani, and David Yurman.

The study looks at the digital competence of 70 jewelry and watch brands.

Achieving “genius” level amounts to “a point of competitive differentiation.” For brands at that level, “creatively engineered messaging reaches consumers on a variety of devices and in many online environments,” according to L2.

Brands were evaluated in the categories of site & e-commerce, digital marketing, social mediam and mobile.
