Alex Cooper Announces Auction of Rare 5.10 Ct Unheated Kashmir Sapphire and Diamond Ring By Bulgari

(PRESS RELEASE) TOWSON, MD — Baltimore-based Auctioneer Alex Cooper will host a one-day auction on Thursday, September 29th, featuring an expansive collection of fine jewelry and timepieces.

The auction is headlined by the sale of Lot 155 a truly exceptional Bulgari ring featuring an unheated 5.10-carat Kashmir Sapphire bypassing a 2.50-carat pear shape diamond. Kashmir sapphires are the most famous of all sapphires due to their exceptional rarity and intense velvety blue color.

Selden Morgan, director of Fine Jewelry at Alex Cooper, says, “This ring combines the rarest size and color of Kashmir sapphire in a graceful bypass design by Bulgari, one of the most luxurious jewelry brands in the world.”

Located in the Northern Himalaya Mountains, Kashmir mines only produced gem-quality sapphires from 1882 – 1887 before the deposit was depleted. The limited supply leads to
Kashmir sapphire’s high value and rarity in today’s market.

The Auction will begin at 12:00am EST on Thursday, September 29th. The auction will take place at Alex Cooper Auctioneers, located at 908 York Road in Towson, Maryland.
