(Press Release)
NEW YORK, NY – DELGATTO, a buyer of fine jewelry, diamonds and watches from the public, has announced the launch of the DELGATTO Charitable Division and the DELGATTO Ultra Division.

The DELGATTO Charitable Division (DCD) is dedicated to helping non-profit organizations raise funds through outreach and events surrounding the resale of jewelry that an individual no longer wants or wears. DCD will collaborate with prominent charities and commit a percentage of all purchases to the participating organization, creating a new way to give back. Each non-profit organization will have the opportunity to customize a program and outreach plan with DCD.

Heading up this new venture is Melissa Breitbart, one of DELGATTO’s new hires, whose love for jewelry prompted her to establish her own line, emma&me, shortly after finishing law school. After being diagnosed with an advanced stage of melanoma in 2005, however, Melissa’s focus shifted toward philanthropy. She founded The Live4Life Foundation in 2006 in order to raise awareness of the dangers of melanoma and funds for critical research. Her dual passions for jewelry and philanthropy have now led her to DELGATTO. In her role as director of the Charitable Division and Corporate Partnerships, Melissa will identify key partnerships, conceptualize events and create relationships with partners who share the same philanthropic goals.

The DELGATTO Ultra Division (Ultra) will focus on targeted personal outreach to the most significant fine jewelry and diamond owners in the world. Ultra aims to offer a truly white-glove service for people wanting to sell only the most important gems and jewels. Ultra will work closely with national and international clientele with the goal of ensuring a level of discretion and expertise.

Appointed as director of the DELGATTO Ultra Division is Max Pincione, former managing director of Harry Winston Global Retail Operations. Pincione served as an integral collaborator in the launch of Harry Winston watches. His relationships with important jewelry buyers give him a unique advantage in this role. As director of the Ultra Division, he will work closely with Chris Del Gatto, founder and CEO of DELGATTO, to assist with outreach to buyers, as well as valuations.

“My team and I are very proud of these two initiatives, which we feel are the next logical step to growing the DELGATTO brand,” says Chris Del Gatto. “Melissa and Max bring very special assets to their respective positions, and I am confident they will spearhead each division with passion and ingenuity.”

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
