FATE AND FAMILY drive fledgling designer Manvi Golcha’s (pictured above) emerging Clarté brand. Golcha is a fourth-generation jeweler who debuted her line last year. Her collection comprises modern gold jewelry silhouettes with diamonds, and a burgeoning signature style of handset milgrain, yellow gold with mixed textures and finishes including a threaded effect, and contemporary presentations of illusion settings.
“I have been sketching since I was a child,” she says. In fact, her first design was executed at age 10 when her dad encouraged her to make her own initial necklace. That experience hooked her, and her portfolio expanded. A client of her father’s asked her to redesign a dated sapphire ring, and that was her true lightbulb moment. “It brought me immense joy,” she recollects. Then during the pandemic lockdown, she and her mother teamed up to dream up Clarté — chic easy-to-wear jewels at affordable price points.
Reactions to Golcha’s work at her first trade show — 2021 JCK Las Vegas — reinforced her efforts. Not only did she secure orders (including a large one for 50 pieces) but she received fantastic feedback. A longtime buyer told her he’d never seen such attention to detail in his 25-year career.
Future collections will further reflect her love of the Art Deco period and minimalist forms featuring her nascent design DNA. Also stay tuned for new work with pops of malachite and emeralds and pearls at 2022 JCK Las Vegas, where she’ll exhibit again in her family’s Valentine Jewels NY booth.
