(Press Release)
NEW YORK – The board of directors of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee has convened a search committee to identify and hire a president, CEO and general counsel to replace Cecilia Gardner, who previously announced her decision to step down from the position in 2017. “We are grateful for Cecilia’s 18 years of service to the JVC and her unwavering dedication to ethics and legal compliance in the jewelry industry,” said Steven Kaiser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JVC. “Her decision to step down from this role creates an opportunity for a new leader for JVC, and we look forward to identifying the best candidate for the position.”

JVC seeks an attorney with a minimum of 10 years of experience to lead and oversee the membership organization with programs focused on legal compliance. The new CEO will create new programs and strategies for organizational success, and maintain ethics and integrity standards in jewelry trade through monitoring and educational tactics. Candidates must have experience as a practicing attorney (litigation preferred). Not-for-profit management experience is a plus. Resumes should be directed to [email protected]; no faxes or calls, please.

Wilkerson Testimonials

Why This Fourth-Generation Jeweler Chose Wilkerson for a Very Special Sale

Parian & Sons of Franklin Lakes, NJ was founded in the early part of the 20th century. But even stores that have successfully made it through the Great Depression, a World War and the Woodstock Generation must come to an end. With no family wanting to continue the tradition, the time was right for Glenn Parian and his wife, Maria, to retire. And what better way to do so than by hiring Wilkerson to help with the store’s liquidation sale. As Glenn puts it, with his credit card machine humming to the tune of up to 200 transactions a day, he couldn’t have done it without Wilkerson. “This is what they do,” he says. “This is what they do for everybody.”
