As I begin to write this blog on trends in jewelry at the 75th Golden Globe Awards, I must mention the main theme of the evening, which was solidarity among the most powerful women in Hollywood and the creation of Times Up — an initiative that reaches beyond the entertainment industry to support women in all industries and offers legal services for gender equanimity and a safe workplace. Black was the color of choice for attendees’ gowns, emphasizing unity.

All women spoke with commitment and grace about the issues and looked equally graceful in their jewels.

Certain trends definitely emerged during the evening. These included bold, feminine and statement-making jewels that turned up in long and intricate diamond earrings, stand-out diamond and/or gold necklaces and emeralds that glistened against the backdrop of black.

Additionally, we were partial to the vintage elegance in diamond earrings on Reese Witherspoon, the long swinging earrings on Dakota Johnson and the elongated diamond styles on Dove Cameron. Angelina Jolie wore pendant earrings from Forevermark, set in 18K white gold with 12.50 TCW of diamonds and Alexis Biedel looked charming in Forevermark x Jade Trau Alchemy Round Diamond Short Drop Earrings set in 18K white gold. Jamie Chung and Katherine Langford both took diamonds to the max in multiple earrings that climbed up their ears, proving this trend continues on.

The chandeliers on Catherine Zeta-Jones, the large pendant earrings on Zoe Kravitz and the outstanding necklace on Issa Rae, all by Lorraine Schwartz, added a whole lot of color to the evening. And these were just some of the vivid green stones we saw throughout the evening.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
