KAREN AND DENNIS BOULLE have been in the jewelry business since 1983, when they decided that they wanted to deal with only the finest, most elegant jewelry. So it was no surprise that their nose for quality led them to this faux French villa, whose luxurious interiors are matched by its swanky façade.

How Long Have You Been At This Address?

We’ve been premier jewelers in Dallas for around 20 years, and we moved into this location in May this year about eight months ago. Before that, we had been searching for just the right place and we found it right here. Our old store was also on Preston Road, Dallas, a few miles down the road. That was 1,800 sq. ft.; this one is nearly 14,000 sq. ft.

Did You Adapt The Property? Was It Expensive?

We completely re-did the existing building. This actually used to be a one-story bank, and we gutted it and built a second story. New everything – floors, security, image, merchandise, presentation and separation of product – we totally started from scratch. It was a very expensive process, but it was worth every penny. We target top-end customers, and the store needed to be tops.

How Do You Use The Space?

Downstairs are our estate gallery, showroom floor, and living room area. Upstairs are the watch shop, jewelry design and repair shop, and business offices.

How Do Visitors Usually React To The Store?

People are amazed by the grandeur of the space, and they also love the warm, homey feeling the store has. We have a nice big fireplace, comfortable couches, and authentic furniture. It’s a comfortable place to shop, and customers enjoy spending time here.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
