AUGUST’S MYSTERY STONE was Thulite, named in honor of its northern roots and which is Norway’s national gemstone no less. It thus seemed somewhat apt that our winner — Joseph Korona, co-owner of Korona Jewelry — would also hail from somewhere northern and famously snowy – Buffalo, NY. Just ask Lesley Ann Davis, owner of Lesley Ann Jewels, an independent jewelry store that — until the end of 2023 — had quite a following in Houston, Texas. To spend more time with her four sons, all in high school, she decided to close her store.
