Citizen Watch America Plans Flagship in NYC

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY – Citizen Watch America (CWA), a leader in accessible luxury timepieces, announces it will open the group’s first ever U.S. based multi-brand flagship situated within one of Manhattan’s premiere shopping destinations. Located at 605 Fifth Ave., steps from Rockefeller Center, this new retail concept will present the full range of offerings across the group portfolio of brands, including Citizen, Bulova, Accutron, Frederique Constant and Alpina. The opening of the flagship, scheduled for late fall 2023, will mark the first of its kind in North America where consumers can experience the company’s legacy in watchmaking while taking part in an immersive shopping experience.

“New York City is a cultural epicenter bringing together all citizens of the world, and the ideal backdrop for Citizen Watch America to introduce our first U.S. based, multi-brand flagship,” says Jeffrey Cohen, president of Citizen Watch America. “Celebrating the spirit of Citizen Watch’s DNA and expertise in horology while translating the company’s rich heritage through experiential retail, we are proud to bring our brands to life in a new way for all watch wearers of the world.”

The expansive 7000 sq ft. three story space will have dedicated destinations for each brand. The first two floors will showcase CWA’s full range of timepiece offerings from Citizen, Bulova, Accutron, Frederique Constant, and Alpina across sport, style, and luxury collections, in addition to timepieces that will be available exclusively at the flagship location. The third floor will include a museum archive and dedicated space for on-site programming, events and community activations.

CWA has tapped the acclaimed architect Ken Park and his award-winning firm Kenneth Park Architects to lead the project. The New York-based firm is known for its unique approach to retail design and consumer experiences.

The company was created under the founding principle of creating classic, high-quality mechanical Swiss watches at accessible prices. In 2023, as it celebrates its 35th anniversary, the brand continues to showcase its constantly advancing watchmaking expertise and proudly offers a collection of 30 calibers designed, developed and assembled in its own Manufacture at Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva. Alpina, the original Swiss sport watch since 1883, is a fine watchmaking manufacture based in Geneva, Switzerland with a mission to design and engineer luxury sport watches that operate with the greatest precision and reliability possible in the most demanding sporting environments.
