DIAMOND ISN’T THE only gem that is a girl’s best friend. In the past few seasons, colored gemstones have been appearing in all categories of jewelry, but the juicy larger stones in drop earrings are the style hanging from a wide demographic of women’s lobes. We saw them during awards season, and we continue to see them evolve in designers’ studios in myriad colors and shapes (the most prominent is the teardrop or pear, whether upright or inverted).
