Trend to watch: short layers of bold links.

I LOVE SEEING MOTHER and daughter celebrity outings, particularly when the mother is the chameleon actress Blythe Danner, who has a vast range from comedy to serious drama, and the daughter is the multi-talented and style-setting Gwyneth Paltrow. In a recent heartwarming photo, Paltrow wears a bold link chain necklace, in line with one of the biggest trends of the past five years. But this is no ordinary link, which is why Paltrow is not only wearing it but also carries it on her GOOP website. It is U.K. brand Robinson Pelham’s Identity Necklace with removable diamond bar. It has become one of her go-to necklaces worn alone or layering with longer charms and pendant styles and what looks like a Tiffany & Co. hardware link chain necklace.

The Robinson Pelham necklace is available in 18K gold, which is the version that Paltrow is wearing and is available with interchangeable bars in different pave gemstones. You can even get a really cool chevron pattern of sapphires and diamonds and bright enamel for a pop of color.

My favorite is this one with the diamond bar, as it can work with everything in a jewelry wardrobe and also with all styles of clothing.

It would have been fun to see Danner in a matching necklace, but I guess everyone has their own “Identity.”

This piece is definitely on my wish list. What about you?

Four Decades of Excellence: How Wilkerson Transformed a Jeweler's Retirement into Celebration

After 45 years serving the Milwaukee community, Treiber & Straub Jewelers owner Michael Straub faced a significant life transition. At 75, the veteran jeweler made a personal decision many business owners understand: "I think it's time. I want to enjoy my wife with my grandchildren for the next 10, 15 years." Wilkerson's expertise transformed this major business transition into an extraordinary success. Their comprehensive approach to managing the going-out-of-business sale created unprecedented customer response—with lines forming outside the store and limits on how many shoppers could enter at once due to fire safety regulations. The results exceeded all expectations. "Wilkerson did a phenomenal job," Straub enthuses. "They were there for you through the whole thing, helped you with promoting it, helping you on day-to-day business. I can't speak enough for how well they did." The partnership didn't just facilitate a business closing; it created a celebratory finale to decades of service while allowing Straub to confidently step into his well-earned retirement.
