Jewelers of America Announces 2022 CASE Award Winners

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has announced the winners of its 32nd annual CASE Awards jewelry design competition. The CASE Awards, JA’s national design competition, recognizes JA Members who exhibit creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design.

First place winners were selected out of over 140 entries in eight categories; categories were separated for JA retail members and JA supplier members: Jewelry up to $2,000, $2,001 to $5,000, $5,001 to $10,000, and $10,001 to $50,000 (retail values). One retail and one supplier entry were also named Best in Show.

“The CASE Awards has a rich history of shining a spotlight on custom design and craftsmanship from Jewelers of America Members nationwide,” says Amanda Gizzi, spokesperson for Jewelers of America. “The work of bench jewelers and jewelry designers is an essential part of the jewelry experience, and the work of these talented Jewelers of America Members contributes to a positive experience and enhanced consumer confidence.”

The winners in each category were determined by a panel of design experts who evaluated the entries on the following criteria: overall design, marketability, originality and quality of manufacture. Judges included Jeffery Bolling, Jeffery B. Jewelers; Brecken Branstrator, National Jeweler; Deirdre Featherstone, Featherstone Design; Amanda Gizzi, Jewelers of America; Jennifer Heebner, JenniferHeebner.com; and Adrianne Sanogo, Black in Jewelry Coalition and GIA Graduate Gemologist.

All winners will receive a customized CASE Award trophy and national and local media coverage.

The 2022 CASE Awards are sponsored by Synchrony, Jewelers Mutual Group and Chosen Payments. The CASE Awards is open only to employees of JA Member companies. This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
