Will men’s pearls expand in style across the board or is this daring level of dangle only for certain celebrities.

The sighting: Rapper Kendrick Lamar attended a Chanel fashion show in head-to-toe Chanel with a long pearl tassel necklace to finish the ensemble.

The jewels: Kendrick Lamar is wearing an extremely long open-ended strand of Chanel pearls that terminates in two large tassels at the ends.

The pearls are varied in size, alternating between large pearls, small pearls, and what appear to be metal beads or spacers. The tassels comprise strands of small pearls that each end in a large round or pear-shaped pearl. The top of each tassel features a large Chanel “CC” logo that appears to be embellished with stone pavé.

The trends: We’ve seen quite a few male celebrities wear single strands of pearls in the past few years, but Kendrick Lamar’s long, lovely pearl tassel takes this trend to a new level.
Will men’s pearls be expanding in style across the board, or is this daring level of dangle only for certain celebrities? Only time will tell.

What do we think? Lamar looks incredible here. I wouldn’t have expected to be excited about white pearls on a white shirt with a white jacket, but the lack of color contrast keeps this feeling casual, even with the extremely long necklace. The texture of the variously-sized pearls make the long necklace visually interesting the whole way around, all the way down to that wonderful tassel.

The pearls pull the whole outfit together and make it look like a chic ensemble for grabbing lunch in Paris rather than strangely proportioned pajamas. It’s giving stylish insouciance on a yacht and I’m here for it.

Judgement: 17/10 for a magnificent man pearl moment.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
