Shop 4 Rings, a new app for iPhones, is aiming to solve a problem that many folks encounter when shopping for jewelry online, as Digital Trends explains. The app, according to the article, is a mobile jewelry store that displays a gallery of rings and lets customers buy directly from an online retailer like Amazon, but also combines hand recognition technology with augmented reality to help shoppers “try on” the rings before they buy them. The user first takes a photo of her hand, and then, “to place the jewelry on a different finger, simply swipe left or right, or tap twice to zoom in and adjust its placement.”
