(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — The Plumb Club Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas has brought together a group of companies offering the newest ideas and products geared toward helping jewelry retailers with daily business and growing sales. Aside from The Plumb Club’s usual offering of retail benefits, such as a complete business center and café, the collective, aptly called the Retail Innovation Center, will be housed at PC-240 within the pavilion. The group will focus on a variety of essential categories for the jewelry retailer.

Exhibits will include:

  • Picup Media: GemLightbox, a cutting-edge jewelry photography tool that works with just a smartphone will be showcased by Picup Media. Additionally, an AI-powered jewelry image retouching tool, and latest innovation, the Augmented Reality jewelry virtual try-on software, which allows customers to view and try on jewelry pieces anytime and anywhere will be demonstrated. Picup Media is a company that helps retailers tell stories and connect with their customers by creating studio-quality jewelry images and videos.

Guided virtual tours of the space will be offered. The Jewelers Resource Center, a groundbreaking and useful exploration tool and reference guide is a legacy gift from The Plumb Club. It is being provided free to the entire jewelry industry for the purpose of shaping the future of our industry via education supplied by a variety of reputable and expert sources.

Lawrence Hess, executive director of The Plumb Club states, “As the leading jewelry association, two of our core missions are to ‘Educate’ the industry and ‘Innovate’ within that space. Today, we are all doing business in the most fast-paced environment the industry has ever seen. Therefore, we felt it was important to pull together the best and the newest innovative companies to help fulfill that mission.”

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
