This year, as we ogle all the glamorous jewels at the 90th Annual Academy Awards, we not only spot trends — the continuation of long and chandelier earrings and statement necklaces (both which were part of our predictions) lots of diamond jewelry (always an Oscar winner) — but we also choose the pieces that every woman should have in her own collection. OK, maybe not the multimillion dollar versions that the A-list actresses are wearing that need major security, but pieces that take inspiration from these outstanding jewels.
Here we offer our advice on the jewels you should add to your store selections, pieces that will work with virtually anything in a woman’s wardrobe.

1. A Rivière Necklace
This necklace has been around for centuries and been through many incarnations. It translates to “river of diamonds.” If you don’t own one already, just take a look at the way that the way that the recipient of the best Supporting Actress award, Allison Janney, shone in a Forevermark by Rahaminov 55.26- TWC diamond and platinum Rivière necklace that set off her red Reem Acra dress.

2. Chandelier Earrings
These vary in length and style, but we think the perfect silhouette is the pair of Harry Winston diamond chandeliers that Elizabeth Moss wore.
3. Statement Drops
We are also partial to the standout long Harry Winston dazzlers on Allison Williams with her nude-color beaded dress.

4. Close-to-the-Ear Earrings
Your customers have diamond studs. Why not offer them a style based on retro looks from the ’40s, but with a youthful update, like those diamond styles by Niwaka that Lupito Nyong’o wore with her Atelier Versace gown?
5. A Demi-Suite
You might think that a demi-suite of Harry Winston earrings and a necklace would be too matchy matchy or stuffy, but just look at the sophisticated elegance it lends to Helen Mirren’s Reem Acra gown in sapphire and diamonds. We like it with blue jeans and a white T-shirt. And you can wear the pieces separately. Many independent designers are creating these looks at accessible prices, but keep this around for inspiration. This look was one of the true jewelry stars of the evening.

6. Linear Earrings
While we are having an earring renaissance, why not add a few linear pairs of diamond earrings from which your customers can choose? They can wear their chandeliers for more formal occasions and wear these long, swingy and lighter weight styles for all occasions. Our picks of the evening are the delicate Cartier styles that Saoirse Ronan wore with her Calvin Klein by Appoinment gown.
7. Linear Earrings, Part 2
We also were quite taken by Eiza Gonzalez’s Chopard linear earrings, as well as the Chopard styles that lit up Jane Fonda’s face. Both of these were a bit more sophisticated, perfect in length, sparkle and attitude.
8. The Diamond Statement Ring
When you can actually see the rings on the red carpet, they are enough to blow you away. Why not try to bring in some rings that are in the feeling that actress Paz Vega wore from Chopard’s High Jewelry Collection, which was set in platinum and featured a 3.05-carat fancy intense yellow diamond and 12.74-carats of diamonds?
