The founders figured there ‘had to be a better way.’

A new platform called Sparkly functions something like Pinterest but is exclusively for engagement ring selfies, Brides reports.INSTORE Sparkly

Sparkly is a social platform exclusively for engagement ring selfies.

Brides-to-be often look through their social feeds for inspiration, but the photos they see don’t typically include details such as cut and carat weight. So even when they see something they like, it can be hard to get the exact look.

On Sparkly, each entry includes all of the details, and they can be filtered according to what you’re looking for. You can search by ring specifications and even hand type. You can then share the photos to get the opinions of those near and dear to you.

And, of course, once you’re engaged, you can share your own engagement ring selfie.

Sparkly’s website explains how the company came about.

“When Apple employee Steven Simon fell in love with his soon to be fiancé, Andrea, he started looking for a ring as special as she was. He wanted to make the proposal a complete surprise — but getting this big moment (and the ring) right ultimately meant that Steve and Andrea ended up seeking out the ring together.”

They figured there “had to be a better way to see what a ring really looks like on a real hand, narrow down the faves, and somehow along the way hint to that special someone what you’d love … all the while keeping the proposal the surprise of the century.”

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
