(PRESS RELEASE) PORTLAND, OR — Leslie Paige Smith has a reputation for inventiveness in her jewelry designs – think of her, and her “Perched Setting” that intentionally shows off the front as well as the back of each gemstone, while her Puzzle Rings champion variation as they can be woven on in a combination of ways.

Leslie continues her innovation streak with her new “Edge-Set Halo Collection” that includes rings, earrings, and necklaces. It’s an evolution of her signature Perched Setting. Leslie has re-thought the halo and given it both a turn and an edge.

She recounts the moment of inspiration. “I’d been getting such an amazing response to my Perched Setting Collection. The best part was having one of my designer friends say to me, ‘Damn, I wished I’d come up with that!’ I knew I was onto something unique.”

“So I decided to see what kind of evolution I could give my perched setting concept. I thought, wait, I can embellish the bezel around the perched settings with smaller gemstones to make my version of a halo. And not just that, I can turn these gemstones 90 degrees, so they face a different direction, like a profile. Oh, fun, this is new!”

The result is that her new collection has interest, personality, and even multiple focal points, depending on the angle you view the pieces from. The edge-set halo gives Leslie’s usually streamlined designs an almost vintage, neo-Victorian feel.

Carol Ferguson, owner of Element 79 Jewelry in Denver (formerly Signet Jewelry Boutique) is an enthusiastic fan. “I own a Leslie Paige perch setting ring. I call it my “driving ring!” The sunlight comes through the window, then bounces through the gemstone in such a dazzling way thanks to the elevated stone. Now, Leslie’s new Edge-Set Halo Collection adds another fascinating element to her perched setting. Halo with an edge. Brilliant.”

Leslie elaborates, “My intention is to create jewelry that makes a strong statement. My hope is that the women who wear my pieces draw from this strength and feel more powerful. I hear from my customers that this happens, and I love it! [Like my jewelry, they can’t be ignored.] My new Edge-Set Halo Collection continues this empowerment.”

Your children are precious. More precious than gold? Absolutely! Just ask Lesley Ann Davis, owner of Lesley Ann Jewels, an independent jewelry store that — until the end of 2023 — had quite a following in Houston, Texas. To spend more time with her four sons, all in high school, she decided to close her store. Luckily, she was familiar with Wilkerson and called them as soon as she knew she wanted to move on to bigger, better and more family-focused things. Was she happy with her decision? Yes, she was. Says Davis, “Any owner looking to make that life change, looking to retire, looking to close, looking for a pause in their career, I would recommend Wilkerson. Hands down!”
