DIAMOND NECKLACES, WHICH were the number one jewel during 2023 red carpet awards season, continue to shine brightly. Just take a look at Christina Aguilera at the 2023 Advocate for Change Award presentation. She was layered in multiple diamond chokers as well as one that dipped into a pear-shaped drop necklace. The look was glamorous and dramatic, with the diamonds piled on with her strapless bustier, glimmering black gown and long gloves.

But if you took one at a time, you could wear any of them at any time of the day and with everything in your existing wardrobe.

Take the Cicada diamond necklace with round diamonds in what at first seems to be a rejuvenation of the tennis necklace but then swirls into vintage-inspired choker length statement piece with two rows of marquise-shaped diamonds that curl underneath the main necklace. It’s one of the standout pieces that Aguilera wore and anchors the more delicate flexible necklaces and the pear-shaped drop style. It would look beautiful on its own and it could dress up the LBD for cocktails or a more casual daytime outfit.

It’s one of those pieces that is both timely and timeless and one that stands out without overwhelming the wearer.
