Expanding upon its collection of field watches for the toughest environments and adventure seekers, CITIZEN introduces its latest Eco-Drive CITIZEN Promaster Altichron model featuring an electronic compass and altitude sensor.
The new Promaster Eco-Drive Altichron watch is powered by light, eliminating the need for regular battery changes. It is equipped with an altitude sensor, making it possible to measure altitude on the highest mountains on Earth with a range up to 10,000 meters (over 32,800 feet) above sea level and 300 meters (nearly 985 feet) below sea level. All of this information is displayed on analog dials rather than a liquid-crystal display, allowing it to display the time, altitude and direction on the dial simultaneously.
In celebration of the launch of the new Altichron timepiece, CITIZEN also welcomes champion climber, UN-named “mountain hero” and climate activist Will Gadd to Team Promaster. Gadd is an expert climber and avid explorer, and his drive for excellence embodies the challenging spirit, passion and adventurous curiosity which defines Promaster. As a brand ambassador, Gadd will be sharing his personal accounts as he travels the globe raising awareness for the environmental protection of mountains, where early indicators of the effects of climate change have already become visible.

The new Promaster Altichron offers wearers a dial with large, highly legible hands as well as numbers and bar indices with a bright lume that provides a more solid, three-dimensional look compared to conventional lume. The clean, simple bezel is slim and unobtrusive, and the inner ring is vertically positioned on the outer rim to provide even better legibility in contrast to the dial.

The case is made of Super Titanium treated with Duratect MRK and Duratect DLC with an appealingly rounded shape that produces a stylish yet robust impression. The dial is protected by spherical sapphire glass and the strap is made of highly durable nylon, making this a watch that can survive in the toughest environments.
In addition to the new Altichron, the Promaster Land collection will offer two new Promaster Tough models. Adventure-ready and designed to perform, each timepiece features a 41mm case with a matching triple-link bracelet securing it to the wrist and a safety fold-over clasp, all crafted in Citizen’s proprietary Super Titanium which is 40% lighter and five times stronger than stainless steel. Available in two dial options, black (BN0241-59H) and green (BN0241-59W), each is equipped with high visibility lume hands and markers and date dial display.
