IDEX Online Polished Price Changes – February 15 , 2016

(IDEX Online News) – Price of round diamonds continued to fall, extending a long-running pattern. Items in the 0.9-0.99 carat category showed the most downward movement, with price drops of up to 4 percent. Some positive changes took place in goods sized 0.30-0.39 carats and those above 5 carats.

The picture overall was less changeable for fancy shapes, although there was downward price changes. The most movement was seen in goods sized between 0.45-2.99 carats. There was almost no price movement in items sized 4 carats and above.

  • 0.23-0.29 cts changes including E-F / IF -2% and D-F / SI2 -3.5-4%     
  • 0.30-0.39 cts many positive changes including D / VVS1-VS1 +2-4% F-J / SI1-2 +3-4%
  • 0.40-0.44 cts changes including D / VS2-SI2 -2-3.5% and J-M / VVS2 -3%
  • 0.45-0.49 cts changes including H-I / VVS1 -2-4% and M-N / SI1-2 +4-10%    
  • 0.50-0.69 cts G / SI1 -3.5% and J / VVS2 -2% 
  • 0.70-0.79 cts many changes including D-F / VVS2, H / VS2-SI1 and J / VVS1+ -2.5-3%  
  • 0.80-0.89 cts changes including D / IF and VVS2 -3%, M / VS1-2 +2.5-3%
  • 0.90-0.99 cts many negative changes including D-H / VVS1-SI2 -2-4%  
  • 1.00-1.24 cts negative changes including H-J / IF -2-3% and E-J / VVS1 -3%
  • 1.25-1.49 cts changes including D / VVS1 -2% and K-L / SI2-SI3 -2-3%
  • 1.50-1.99 cts negative changes including K / IF-VVS1 -3% and L / VS-SI -2-3%  
  • 2 cts downward changes including G and J  / VVS2 -3% and M / SI1-I1 -2-3%
  • 3 cts limited changes including D / VVS1 +1% I / IF -3% and K / VS2 +3%
  • 4 cts a few shifts including D / VS1-2 +0.5-3% and F / VS1 -3%
