JIS Gears Up for First West Coast Show

It’s set for Nov. 2-4.

(PRESS RELEASE) NORWALK, CT — JIS and Reed Exhibitions are gearing up for the launch of a jewelry trade show to take place on the West Coast in fall. The new show, JIS Delivery – San Diego, will run Nov. 2-4, 2019, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego. This show will provide the jewelry trade located in the Western U.S. an opportunity to purchase wholesale finished jewelry ready for immediate delivery on the show floor just before the holiday season.

The at-show delivery (“cash & carry”) that JIS is known for, will play a lead role in this event, allowing for both immediate at-show delivery and order writing directly on the secure and trade-only show floor. With the early November timing and access to immediate inventory, JIS Delivery-San Diego is strategically positioned for retailers to stock up before the holiday season. JIS Delivery promises to provide an array of product categories, styles, vendors, and buying opportunities.

“The JIS Shows are known for their perfect timing based around the needs of the modern jewelry retailer, catering to unique buying markets, and the opportunity to buy at the wholesale level right on the show floor,” says Jordan Tuchband, industry vice president of JIS Shows. “The Western USA represents a huge part of the jewelry industry, but many of these retailers have had to fly across the country to attend any of the shows in the Fall. After directly speaking with a large volume retailers west of the Mississippi River, it became apparent there was not only a need, but a genuine desire by jewelers to have a buying event located in an affordable, easy-to-get-to location, at the right time, on the West Coast.”

Known as “America’s Finest City,” San Diego is the ideal place to extend the JIS Show’s now countrywide name. Taking place in the San Diego Convention Center, the show will be in close proximity to downtown San Diego-home to thousands of affordable hotels, famous tourism sites, top of the line restaurants, and more. It provides a fantastic opportunity for attendees to come to the show for business and mix in a little vacation at the same time.

Wilkerson Testimonials | Sollberger’s

Going Out of Business Is an Emotional Journey. Wilkerson Is There to Make It Easier.

Jaki Cowan, the owner of Sollberger’s in Ridgeland, MS, decided the time was right to close up shop. The experience, she says, was like going into the great unknown. There were so many questions about the way to handle the store’s going-out-of-business sale. Luckily for Cowan, Wilkerson made the transition easier and managed everything, from marketing to markdowns.

“They think of everything that you don’t have the time to think of,” she says of the Wilkerson team that was assigned to manage the sale. And it was a total success, with financial goals met by Christmas with another sale month left to go.

Wilkerson even had a plan to manage things while Covid-19 restrictions were still in place. This included limiting the number of shoppers, masking and taking temperatures upon entrance. “We did everything we could to make the staff and public feel as safe as possible.”

Does she recommend Wilkerson to other retailers thinking of retiring, liquidating or selling excess merchandise? Absolutely. “If you are considering going out of business, it’s obviously an emotional journey. But truly rest assured that you’re in good hands with Wilkerson.”
